Introduction to financial product pricing for compliance officers in the context of MiFID - Best execution

Doelstelling

The purpose of this training is to provide a deeper insight in the implications of the Best Execution obligation for the pricing of transactions in financial instruments and gain a general understanding of the main principles of the techniques typically used to price common financial instruments.

The MiFID Best Execution obligation requires that regulated firms, when executing orders in financial instruments of retail and professional clients, take all reasonable steps to obtain the best possible result for clients taking into account a number of execution factors. These execution factors include price and costs.

Furthermore, MiFID II will introduce additional requirements in relation to the fairness of the pricing of OTC transactions and more stringent product governance requirements covering a.o. the pricing of financial instruments.

A good understanding of the impact of the Best Execution obligation and product governance requirements on the pricing of (transactions in) financial instruments and of the main principles of the pricing of such transactions is key to ensuring compliance with MiFID now and in the future.
